A peaceful home is as sacred a place as any Temple.

No worry if Temples are closed to the public due to lockdown…
Until the world becomes a healthy, safe and happy place,
A healthy and peaceful home is as sacred a place as any Temple,
Stay Home, Stay Safe, Pray from Home.

United with the Government we succeed, divided we suffer…

Pray as though everything depended on GOD,
Work as though everything depended on you!
Follow lockdown guidelines to overcome COVID,
United with the Government we succeed, divided we suffer.
Pray that the violators bent on spreading disease,
And attacking the frontline warriors,
The police, health workers and doctors,
Are caught and severely reprimanded.
Pray that this pandemic ends soon,
May COVID and all diseases come under our control,
And may those responsible for deliberately spreading COVID,
Transform into loving human beings and Nation lovers.

An Amazing Bird Show! At Safari World.

Bird watching was said to be the second most popular outdoor activity second only to gardening but now with fewer or no birds that has become almost impossible. The only place we can now see a variety of birds is in Zoos, Bird Shows or Television programmes. This article is about sharing with you our happiness of watching a variety of birds performing before us at the Safari World, Bangkok.
With almost no human movement in the open now due to lockdown, there is news from different places about animals and birds appearing in towns and venturing even into urban areas. For instance, last week people got to see more than 1.5 lakh Flamingos that gathered at Navi Mumbai creek, a number larger than in any of the previous years. And at the Tirumala and Tirupati towns with no pilgrims or locals in sight a large variety of animals, including wild ones are being sighted on and along the Ghat roads and in the outskirts of the town every day. Birds and animals are feeling less threatened in these days of lockdown and are freely moving around.
Telangana State is said to be home to over hundred types of birds but I am sure most of them are extinct or on the verge of extinction. The State bird; Pala Pitta (Indian Roller) itself is endangered. The Crows and House Sparrows have entirely vanished from Hyderabad, while the Pigeons can be seen everywhere. Fortunately, with a few trees in our house and in our lane we get to hear a few songbirds early in the morning. And sometimes chirping of garden birds during daytime when they build nests on these trees. At times as we look towards the sky we see some Parrots or Cranes flying, and that is all that is left of birds around us.
So at the Safari Bird Show when we saw some lovely birds like Flamingos, colourful Macaw Parrots and other lovely birds performing fly-past, march-past and tricks like borrowing money from someone in the audience and returning that to him after some time, picture-spelling by picking up the right alphabet cards,  rolling of balls, bursting of balloons, Macaws talking and so on, we felt very happy looking at the birds and their performance. Here is a video of that show, which I wish to share with you. I hope you will like it:

When will such happy outdoor times return?...

When will such happy outdoor times return?...
Leisure travel will be a fantasy,
Until COVID is eradicated,
And we get medicated,
With fool-proof remedies,
To lose all fears of all diseases,
Till then we will have to travel in our thoughts,
By reliving our life in yesterday’s travel memories…
