This is my blog post No. 1600! And as always when I reach the
milestone of a century that is 16 times so far! I look for any subject that is
close to my heart and write about it. And as always it was not an easy task even
now to finalise a topic.
Today, 4th December is my wife’s birthday and this led me to finally
decide my 1600th blog post to be on a date and ceremony that is close to her
and my heart… A sort of our ‘Marriage Certificate’ (made-up), with the contents
entirely sincere, true and interesting, for the amusement of our family,
friends, relatives, my blog followers and random readers. It is unique, one-of-a-kind,
hope you will like it:

MARRIAGE CEREMONY of Ch. N. RAGHU

Ch. Sow. LALITHA
We are gathered here this day to unite Narayanaraopeta Raghu,
son of Sri. Narayanaraopeta Bhaskarachary and Lalitha, daughter of Sri. Dubbaka
Yadagiri Achary in the bonds of holy matrimony which is an honourable estate.
Into this, these two now come to be joined. If anyone present can show just and
legal cause why they may not be joined, let them speak now or forever hold
their peace.
Raghu,
will you have this woman as your lawful wedded wife, to live together in the
estate of matrimony? Will you love her, honour her, comfort her, and keep her
in sickness and in health; forsaking all others, be true to her as long as you
both shall live?

The tradition of Karthika Deepalu
At every home and every temple
In very large numbers and rows
Are thrilling and a feast for the eyes.
Not just in the month of Karthikam
But every day in our Pooja Room
At least a few oil lamps have to be lit
And obeisances offered to it.
When during rituals at home
If we say ‘Swagruhe’ even once during ‘Sankalpam’
We are bound to light lamps in our pooja room
On every day of the year religiously.
However these days it is not possible for us always
As now and then we go on outings and holidays
And we cannot burden neighbours to lit lamps and offer Naivedhyam
Hence we lit these 365 wick bundles to represent every day of
the year!
