Universally most awaited 2014 FIFA World
Cup kicks off in a few hours from now in Brazil! The opening ceremony is under 8
hours! It is at 11.30 p.m. today - 12th June!
After undoubtedly a very grand opening
ceremony this night, the first match would be played between the host country
Brazil and Croatia. And then this Feast of Football would continue to enthrall
us for a month that is from tonight to 13th of July in Brazil (that is until
early hours of 14th of July in India).
National Teams of 32 Countries have
qualified to participate in this World Cup. A total of 64 matches will be
played between them in 12 different cities of Brazil to decide the winner of
the FIFA World Cup.
I have provided below two videos, one in celebration of the
countdown to the World Cup and the other the official World Cup Song and below
it the entire Match Schedule in Indian Standard Time. IST is (+) 8.30 hours
ahead of Brazil Time. Today’s first Match between Brazil and Croatia is at 5.00
p.m. local time (12th June) which means it is at 1.30 a.m. IST (13th June). You
will find that most of the matches are in the middle of the night, but for Indian
football fans this once in four years bonanza is a must watch…certainly most of
the matches, no matter what!
