Wishful thinking!

Dear good old Banyan tree

My earnest Pranams!

For many like me, Hindus

You possess supernatural powers

Your bark is Lord Vishnu,

Your roots are Lord Brahma,

Your branches are Lord Shiva

And your leaves are the resting place

Of Lord Krishna.

I will stand here

Under your shade

Praying

For a long time

Every day

Until you pity me

And bless me

By granting my wish

To be as strong as you

In all weathers

And have a tress

Long and dense

Like your aerial roots.
