Today, 9th May is our Wedding Anniversary. We will remember this
Wedding Anniversary as Lockdown Anniversary. Though it was a very happy one, it
was different from our earlier anniversary celebrations, when our day used to
start with a visit to Sri Ganapathi Devalayam (Temple) adjacent to Secunderabad
Railway Station followed by breakfast at some restaurant and a celebratory
dinner at a grand restaurant with family or dinner at home with mostly delicious
outside food. For example last year, it was, as usual, a visit to the Temple in
the morning, then a lavish buffet breakfast at a restaurant followed by lots of
relaxation, a regular lunch and then in the evening after all the family
members (20) assembled at our house we cut our anniversary cake and had it with
some snacks and then we proceeded for dinner to a restaurant called Vivaha
Bhojanambu in Secunderabad. The dinner was in a private dining room of the
restaurant. The dinner was a very special, traditional and a sumptuous one,
named as Prathyeka Banthi Bhojanam, served on Banana leaves, with a large
variety of Veg and Non-Veg. preparations. Everyone enjoyed the dinner and
camaraderie.
This year too there was enjoyment but on a lower scale, due to
Covid-19 and the lockdown. There was no visit to the Temple, no out of the
house celebration or out of the house food.
