Calm, Serene and Beautiful Holiday @ Haritha - Laknavaram Lake Resort.

Approach Road to Laknavaram Lake Resort:

Extraordinarily beautiful Laknavaram Lake Resort is situated at a distance of 220 km from our house in Secunderabad, in the dense forests of Jayashankar Bhupalpally District of Telangana State. It is run by Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation – TSTDC’s Haritha chain of Hotels and Resorts.
We have been to this lovely Resort very recently and enjoyed every moment of our stay.
After reaching Warangal City, we drove along NH163 – Warangal-Eturnagaram Highway, and after crossing Mulugu Town and Machapur village; we took a right turn at the Laknavaram signboard, on to a single road. From this right turn, Laknavaram is 8 km away. En-route there is a Ghat road for some distance, from where we got the first glimpses of the beautiful Lake and Resort.
The attached photographs and videos, I am sure will give you a crystal clear picture of this beautiful resort. However, a brief introduction is necessary to understand the attached pictures and videos:
The lake is spread over an area of 10,000 acres (40.4 sq. km) and holds about 2.135 tmcft of water. It is also a reservoir and irrigates over 3,500 acres of land. All around the lake you can see only the hills and forest. The lake has thirteen islands and our Cottage is on one such island accessible only by boat!
As we had reservations for a Cottage we were permitted to park our vehicle at a place closest to the elevated entrance of the Resort. A security person helped us with our baggage. After getting down a number of steps we got on to a suspension/hanging bridge which goes on for some distance and then takes a slight left turn on a small island, on to another suspension bridge. This second suspension bridge led us through another island to the main island where the Reception, Restaurant, Boating facilities and some rooms are available for guests. There is another new suspension bridge to this main island from a large parking area meant for general visitors. This new bridge was inaugurated in November 2018. The old two suspension bridges are together 160 metres long and the new bridge is 210 metres long. All these suspension bridges are about 1.5m wide and can hold hundreds of people, especially the new bridge can hold 1000 people at a time. These robust suspension/hanging bridges over the lake look spectacular.
After checking in at this island we were transferred along with our baggage on a boat to the island on which our Glass and Glazed AC Cottage is located. It takes about 15 minutes to reach this island in a speed boat. There are only four Cottages available on this island. There are plenty of trees and a garden on this island. There is also a large area for Camping Parties and adventure sports. Only mineral water and Tea is available here and for food, snacks and meals a speed boat from the restaurant island would deliver it and the two members of staff available on our island would serve it for us. Or alternatively, we can call for a boat and go to the restaurant for food and return.
Finally, the Glass Cottage is very comfortable with all amenities and a beautiful view all around, including beautiful sunrise and sunset.
Now I will let the photographs and videos do the rest of the explanation and certainly in a much better way!
