The biennial Civil Aviation Show more popularly called the
Hyderabad Air-Show has commenced at Begumpet Airport, Hyderabad on 12th March
2014 and today 16th March is the last day. The first three days were for the
business people and the last days are for the general public. The first
Hyderabad Air Show was in 2008 and this is the fourth edition in our city.
The India Aviation Show is organised by the Ministry of Civil
Aviation, Government of India, jointly with Federation of Indian Chambers of
Commerce, with active participation from Aviation related Indian and Worldwide
industries. The event holds a Conference on Civil Aviation sector with focus on
policy and business aspects, with eminent speakers, policy makers and experts
expressing their views. There is a CEO Forum providing a platform for CEOs of
leading Companies of Aviation Sector for an interactive session with the
Minister of Civil Aviation. India Aviation 2014, was inaugurated by the Civil
Aviation Minister, Sri. Ajit Singh and the ceremony was attended by who’s who
of the Indian Aviation Sector, Senior Ministry Officials and very prominent
Industry leaders.
India Aviation 2014 has provided more than 20,000 sq. mtrs. of
exhibition area. There are 350 exhibitors from around the world. And grand
scale arrangements have been provided in the form of Business Centre,
Information Desk, Travel and Transport Desk, Restaurants, Snack Counters,
Florist Counters etc.
This year, most prominent Aircraft on display are two
sophisticated aircrafts of the world, Airbus A380 and Boeing’s Dreamliner B787.
Other Aircraft on display are Beachcraft’s King Air 350ER and C90GTX, Baron
G58, Bombardier’s Challenger 300, Learjet 60 and Global 6000, Gulfstream’s
ultra high-speed and long range G650, Dassault’s Falcon 7X and 2000LX, Embraer
Legacy 650, Lineage 1000, Phenom 300, and Piaggio Aero’s P180 Avanti II. And
the Exhibition Halls are filled with 350 exhibitors from around the world, from
big vendors like Airbus, Boeing, Rolls Royce, Pratt & Whitney and Honeywell
to many smaller foreign and domestic suppliers and manufacturers.
Apart from the display of these magnificent small and big
planes, the two-20 minute aerobatic shows by British pilots Mark Jefferies and
Tom Cassells, one at 11AM and the other at 3PM are enthralling the general
public.
The exhibitors too have got a good opportunity to show case
their products as India is going to procure 400 passenger planes in the next
one year!
