In almost every household all over the world, Sundays, holidays, festival days, birthdays, anniversaries and any sort of celebrations call for partying and special foods. Sundays are the commonest happy days whereas all other eventful days which are very significant are far apart. Sunday menu at home may not be a grand and large spread but definitely time for the family’s favorite foods and at times something different and exotic.
This Sunday morning we tried out Denver omelette for the first time at home though we got to relish it at some restaurant breakfast buffets in the past. As you can see in the attached pictures it is a very thick and fluffy omelette.
Normally any Omelette after mixing the eggs with all other ingredients would take under ten minutes to cook, including an eight-egg Spanish omelette which is our family’s and especially our son’s favorite. This is because frying eggs does not take much time. However, the Denver omelette we made this morning with eight eggs, cheddar cheese, cream, mushrooms in place of ham, green and red capsicum and onion took close to forty minutes because it is a baked omelette.
It turned out well, thick very soft and fluffy making a happy and good start for this Sunday’s enjoyment. Baking takes time but this delicacy is a sure hit and deserves to be cooked as often as possible for breakfast or any meal with bread and salads.
I strongly recommend this American dish for everyone. You can easily find the recipe for Denver omelette also known as Southwestern omelette and Western omelette with slight variations, one of which would certainly appeal to you.
