Sundays are special all
over the world for children and elders, a holiday after six days of routine and
tough; individual duties and responsibilities…study, jobs and commitments. And Sunday
is for the family to be together and celebrate, celebrate in many ways, playing
games, a long drive, movies, shopping, visiting friends and relatives and with
special foods.
Food is an important part
of any celebration in all Nations of the World, regardless of culture and
religion. Festivals, births, weddings, birthdays, wedding anniversaries and all
happy and special events are celebrated with traditional and special foods. And
Sundays are no exception in most families, including ours. Yesterday being the
last Sunday of 2014 it was a little more special and we celebrated the day with
special Hyderabadi spread…Chicken Biryani, Mutton Korma, Crab Curry, other accompaniments
like Mirchi ka Salan, Onion-Tomato-Cucumber Raitha, Paneer Curry, Cabbage Curry, Plain Rice etc., (the latter for the vegetarians in the family) and an exotic dessert – ‘Hot
Banana Chocolate Boat with Vanilla Ice cream’, which everyone relished. You may
see the attached photographs of this exotic and delicious dessert:
