Today, on 19th August 2014 the world is
celebrating 175 Years of Photography!
Can you imagine a world without photography?
Today, we can share memories across the globe in seconds. Photography is an
invention that has revolutionized the way we see the world. We can visit places
without leaving our home. We can share adventures, events and memories with
friends in another city or country and watch grandchildren like our Vihaan grow
up thousands of kilometers away. And just imagine there was once a time when
photography didn’t exist.
World Photography Day is all about celebrating
the joy photography brings into our lives. It’s about acknowledging the
technology we take for granted every day.
On this occasion I wish all photographers
and photography enthusiasts like me all the best in their profession and lives,
and to freeze more and more best moments of life and nature with their beloved
Cameras. And just to remind my blog readers and visitors, there are over 6000
photographs! related to me in this blog of mine: Raghu’s column! - http://srisrilara.blogspot.in/
The above
photograph titled “Hearty laughter!” is my contribution to this year’s “Share
Your World Photo Book”, with a storyline “At a fancy dress competition at our
house, a funny costume has generated this wholehearted laughter in my wife and
a grandnephew”.
