Lovely Namma Metro deepens longing for Mana Metro!

After experiencing the lovely Namma Metro that is Bangalore Metro (as you can see in the above photographs) our interest and longing for Hyderabad Metro Rail has deepened. Hope it arrives as per schedule.

OMG! What Extravagant Horsepower!

These Motorcycles are gorgeous!

Anyone would love to own them!

But their prices are outrageous,

As of now I may gaze, plan and dream!

Or should I simply call them sour grapes!

Because these powerful monsters,

In Indian hands and highways,

Have caused many disasters.

Fine dining memories last longer!

Since four days we are at Bangalore visiting our son, Srikanth. Srikanth is at Bangalore for the last sixteen months and being an aficionado and connoisseur of food he has gained good knowledge of the eateries here. He is taking us to different eateries big and small where the ambience and food or food alone is outstanding and popular in Bangalore. The above photographs are of us at the fine dining restaurant Khansama, located in the heart of the city at the grand UB City’s Luxury Mall. An extravagant Mall and an extraordinary Restaurant!

I have given this post the title “Fine dining memories last longer”. Very true! But equally true is the fact that modest looking, simple and clean eateries that serve good and tasty food out beat the popularity and life of grand restaurants and become tourist spots! A fine example of this fact is the Mavalli Tiffin Rooms (MTR) located close to the main entrance of Lalbagh Botanical Garden. MTR is in existence since 1924! And its popularity is ever growing. In spite of its vastness, one has to wait for awhile for his turn to savour the food here. In the pictures below you can see the crowd visiting this close to a century old South Indian Tiffin and Meals establishment.

My Birthday Celebration - 2013.

The following pictures are of my birthday party today at our house. As you can see it was a small party, the cake is home baked and the food mostly prepared at home. We had good time but we missed the company of immediate family members as they are far away from us, in fact my son and my nephew and his family are in different continents. This blog post is specially to share our small celebration with all of them.

Helpless and deeply saddened by the huge loss of life and extensive damage done by Super Typhoon HAIYAN in Philippines   I made this prayer-poster.

Perhaps GOD too is deeply saddened and angry with us due to terrorism and lack of peace amidst us. Let the civilised world unite to demolish terrorism and countries promoting terror, and then GOD would care for us.
